Looking for a Horror story, scaley girl, wood mill

Ok, wen I was younger I red a horror story about a guy that fell in love with a girl and she was killed in a woodmill acsident. There was aso a scalely girl who liked the guy, she ends up with him (I think she was a witch and she killed his love) and he is miserible.. i cant find this book anywhere and I need to find it.
