looking for a war book?

either a fiction or non-fiction, but i would like a book where it talks about every day life of a solder , and the battel scenes , talks about the combat .

world war 2 , vietnam. any thing, thanks

I have read A Farewell to Arms for ERNEST HEMINGWAY. It was a good book which he shows a man's days in war and love, but the main character isn't actually a soldier, but indulges war in WWII. Some people might not like his style of writting.

Philip Caputo's A Rumor of War is a personal favorite of mine. Very thoughtful and a war book that will really make you think-it's definitely one not to be missed.
