Looking for short story from middle school

Hi, I'm new here.

So first I saw the sticky, but what I am looking for is in one of those English textbooks you had to lug around in your backpack, so I doubt it would help.

So here it goes

Back in middle school (1992-1995), I read a short story in one of those require English textbooks which at first I didn't like, too creepy, but as I read it over and over, it became one of those stories which changed my life, I think.

Thing is I don't REMEMBER the name of the story, it had Dream in the title, something about watching a dream? I don't know.

Anyway it's basically about a a boy (I want to say Mark, but seriously don't remember) living in an Orwellian future about which in the schools record your dreams and then show it in the class and if it's a bad dream (a boy dreamed of beating up the hero) you get punished and everyone wears these gray jumpsuits and they decide what future job you have (the boy is supposed become a construction worker even though he hoped to get a better job, like a doctor or something)

One day he finds a girl in these bushes wearing strange clothes named Zoe who I think had amnesia.

Don't remember much after that, but in the end he gets teleported with her to 1969 or 1970, well out of the Orwellian world that he knows and that's where it ends.

I've wanted to reread that one for a long time now, does anyone know the name of the title and author and where I could buy/find at least the textbook that it was in?

I really would appreciate it. :)

EDIT: The title should have been Looking for short story from middle school.

Hi again. Wow, it's been 5 months since my last post. Anyway I don't quite remember the title, it was the Girl Who Read Dreams or something about reading dreams. That isn't alot to work with, but maybe someone would know? It's actually important to me.

EDIT: So I'm rehashing the infomation from before, but maybe it will give you a clue...

Is there a place to find old textbooks?
