Medically related horror/thriller

I recently finished reading Neuropath by Canadian author Scott Bakker.

I absolutely loved it. Being a science buff I loved how the ideas of philosophy and medical details of the mind were woven into the creepy story line.

Has anyone read this book and similar books? Because I would absolutely love to read something along these lines.

If you're looking for medical thriller, you must check out Robin Cook. He's a pioneer of the genre and has more than a dozen books about all things medically related, including a nonfiction-esque "The Year of the Intern" which details what a medical student would expect (in great, daunting detail) during that first year of duty.

Definitely recommend!

I can't recommend a medical horror novel but certainlt know that Peter Clement wrote very good medical thriller. :) (F. e. The Inquisitor)

Not sure if that's what you're looking for but it's definitively worth reading:

Blood Lies by Daniel Kalla (the author himself is an ER physician)
