My brother is not a big reader. He does like Michael Crichton, however. Any recommendations for a 22 year old guy who likes really technical stories with lots of science involved?

He is not famous for scientific books like Crichton but some Dean Koontz novels like Fear Nothing and Brother Odd actually have quite a bit of scientific elements in them and are also exciting.

MEG: A Novel of Deep Terror by Steve Alten has A LOT of scientific elements involved. It's about a ex-submarine pirate for the army, who lost his job because he saw a Meglodon Shark where he was diving. Megladons are 40-60 ft long, with white luminescent bodies, that died after the dinosaur age...but did they? Jonas gets a chance to go down to the spot again, and it actually turns out they do exist. A female rises to the surface from the trench,to wreak havoc on the new world.

Alten talks to real life scientists and archeologists, and paleontologists etc to get his information. The book is very funny, with some badassness thrown in.

On a side note, the only Chrichton book I have read was Jurassic Park. I have Prey on my to-read list.

Thanks guys!! I will look into all of it. @Lincoln Rhyme - He has read both and enjoyed them. I have personally read Prey and LOVED it. It is good!
