'tuesdays with Morrie' is a book about Mitch Albom who got the chance to rediscover Morrie Schwartz in the last months of Morrie's life, who was once the college professor who taught him like 20 years ago. The relationship turned out to be lessons on 'how to live'. It's a real story detailing their moments shared together in the last months of the old man and how Mitch rediscovered his own life through the lessons.

It touches you deeply into your heart. There are quite a lot of proverbs that are really enlightening. Have we ever wonder what are the important things in our life? Is it, death, fear, aging, greed, marriage, family, society, forgiveness or a meaningful life?

I had to do a paper relating to it for a Death & Dying class I took at the university a few years ago. I didn't answer the key questions how the professor wanted them so I got a D+ on that assignment. Ah, good times.

The book itself was rather thought-provoking. More people should read it and consider what is really important in their lives. Is it that last minute business deal or the capacity to perform the thing which you love and that is to be able to dance? For class we also watched the film adaptation. I wonder if I was the only one who cried during it...

Mitch Albom

I have read the book The five people you meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom and found it very interesting. It makes you think about the possibilities on life after death. I have wanted to read Tuesdays With Morrie for a while now but have never actually got round to doing it. After reading the comments made here it makes me want to go out and by it.

I hope it is good as it is made out.

I've just read this. I was completely, totally, absolutely disappointed. I'd heard so many good things about it - it didn't live up to them for me.

Maybe it would work as good slap in the face for an overly ambitious young person who is unaware that we are all mortal.

Not for me!
