Modern Romance books

I read mostly Non-Fiction with some Sci-Fi. I am looking for a change and want to read some Romance. I am not interested in Historical-Romance, I really hate that idea. Rather I am interested in some Modern Love Story like of 70s to the present and I prefer the Non-Fiction over Fictional Romance.

I did search a lot at the book shops here in ABIDS market Hyderabad, India but came up with totally 100% fiction, almost mostly on historical romance. So, out of empty hands I picked up Catherine Alliott's The Real Thing

Any recommendations ?

Currently I'm reading a book with romantic short stories by Hanif Kureishi. Unfortunately I just know the German title, "Dunkel wie der Tag".
