I'd like to suggest that we award this to a deserving individual each month. For the November nomination, I nominate.........Kookamor!.:)

How does one decide this? Is it how nice you are? How many posts? What are the parameters?

Without any more detail, I'm not sure I like this one.

At the very least it should be decided by annonymous poll.

We have a fairly limited number of regular, active members. It would not take long for some members to become repeat winners...which may have a tendancy to alienate others....maybe...

More thought would need to be put into this SFG, and even then....

I don't get this. Why? How would it be decided?

Well, how about we take nominations, one of the mods sets up a poll and voila!. Criteria?....hmmmmmmmmmmm.............How about-

1.)Respect and reputation among other members
2.)Exemplifies what the board is about
3.)A member for at leasdt a month

Any others?

I don't feel that is a very wise idea. I would rather the book forum didn't become a "popularity contest"

Use?.....to give warm fuzzies, to give credit where credit is due. We have a lot of great folks who it would be nice to give a pat on the 'ole back.

I don't think we need a popularity contest. Everyone on TBF rates an A+.
Well, almost everyone. :) There are some that cheat at Name That Tune. :)

Darren could switch the 'Reputations' feature of the board on; but there's little point in that.

No, don't use it.

The reputations allows members to award other members with a point when they are helpful and to subtract a point from them when they are unhelpful so that they garner a forum reputation. It also helps newbies get an idea of who is more trustworthy.
