Hey! That's not very nice. I wish my boyfriend would dress like some of those guys (except maybe not the sheer shirt).

I still don't think I agree with you. There are certainly many women out there who spend a fortune on appearance. However, there is a theory that they aren't doing it for men, but rather for other women. Personally, I try to look decent when I'm out and about simply because I'd rather look neat and clean than untidy and gross. It has nothing to do with wanting to appeal to men.

Look at the ladies products in most drug stores and grocery stores...

look at televison commercials....

Come on...it's nothing to be ashamed of....appearance is what it is....to attract a mate....it's important through-out all of nature, and humans are just as much a part of it as birds or fish or whatever...

It just makes us sound more intelligent, and less egotistical if we try to hide our desire to be attractive by saying "I just want to look neat and tidy."

You can't seriously argue that in general, women are not more concerned with their overall appearance then men are? Can you?

In general, which gender is more image conscious?

I really think this is a toss-up and the gap is closing. A lot of men these days spend a ton on this stuff.

I don't know about the rest of the country, but a man's suit in NYC costs about three times what a women's suit costs. Same with coats, jackets, shirts. So, even if women buy three times as much, it evens out.

Similarly, men get haircuts every few weeks. Most women do that a lot less. Men spend money on shaving products, which are fairly expensive. Men spend more on gyms and muscle-enhancers. Men are developing eating disorders at a really rapid rate, catching up to women pretty quickly.

A generation ago, most women did not go to tanning salons, gyms, nail parlors, tanning salons. 10 or 15 years ago it really took off. Now men are catching up. Really not a big difference. Men just like to hide it.

Maybe in New York...and a few other trendoid places...but in the heart of America, men are closer to Larry The Cable guy than Queer Eye.

All I know is female products in the stores where I live take up entire rows of shelves, and mens products get about 1/10th of that space....

When you stop to consider the incedible work of art that is the body female, and the textures, the smoothness, the warmth, the softness, the smell, and yes my dear friend....the taste.....is it any wonder we can think of anything else......

You see....our minds are always there because that's exactly where you want them. You scent yourself, and primp and preen yourself to look your best as you think we want to see you. You exercize and eat right. You hide the imperfections (but only as you see them in your own mind....) and call attention to the best parts. You flirt and laugh and do whatever it takes to make us think of nothing else.

Ladies.....you really do rule the earth, and we men are simply your toys to be manipulated as you see fit.

So, whatever we are, it's because that's the way you want us.
