Muslim Over Reaction to...everything

What is wrong with pointing out what that over-reaction is and labeling it as such? Why the desire to excoriate ourselves over what happened during the middle ages or to point to some miniscule group within the christian population to minimize what the muslims are doing in a de facto way? Is it too un-P.C. to point out the things that people not of a western Euro. background do? I'm beginning to think so.

Comments like these are the reason for the talk of other conflicts, at least on my part:

The other group takes it to the extreme.

I'd wager that more people have been killed by "islamo-fascists" than by abortion doctor shooters.

Does islamo-fascism not pose an international threat? Do they not seek to have other nations cater to how their view society should be?

These comments needed to be addressed. The best way to do this was to show that Muslims weren't alone in overracting, and that they aren't that different from other groups all over the world; that Muslims aren't the only "international threat".

I apologize for yet another tangent, but I believe this is important to the topic. Any religion's followers can be led astray. You can look throughout history and find examples as many who have posted here demonstrated.

Is it possible to make a list of all religions and compare the following?

Number of deaths caused in the name of religion;
The teachings of the treatment of others - particularly non-believers.
What are the benefits of death?
Are you given permission to kill?
Is tolerance part of the teachings?

I realize this is difficult in even comparing the different factions of Christianity; some still adhere to many of the teachings of the Old Testament, yet many only refer to the New Testament their guidebook in life.

Does anyone think that there is a direct correlation with one’s religious belief and their ability to do what many people consider “Crazy”, i.e. strapping a bomb to oneself and cleaning house. Another example as stated earlier, most Buddhists do not have such a practice.

Many will disagree with me and so this is too complex and I am trying to oversimplify things, but the bottom line for me is most things can be boiled down to its essence, including one’s passions and beliefs.

So start boiling.

Islamo-fascist intimidation strikes again.

German lawmakers and cultural leaders assailed a Berlin opera house Tuesday for canceling a production that included a scene of the severed head of the prophet Muhammad, saying it was caving in to fears about religious extremism.

Officials with the world-renowned Deutsche Oper decided late Monday that the show -- an avant-garde remake of Mozart's "Idomeneo" -- could not go on after police warned that it could result in a violent backlash from Muslim fundamentalists. Opera officials said they were worried about a repeat of the worldwide protests that erupted this year after a Danish newspaper published cartoons satirizing Muhammad.
