Yo bubba, no sharks here. In my experience, a few goldfish and guppies. And the occasional angelfish (hi Ell).

Bubba stands (or sits, actually) corrected.

bad analogy, I have not encountered any sharks either. A schitzophrenic or two, maybe, but no sharks.

(side note: I must exude "Bubbaness". I have been called that on many more than one occasion. Now I know it isn't just my appearance!)

I'm writing a novel. I've done short stories and I will have my degree in English(Master's) when I graduated in December. I don't think I need short story practice.

Your title "My first attempt at writing" and your introductory text contradict yourself.
