My first attempt at writing

novella said:
Yo bubba, no sharks here. In my experience, a few goldfish and guppies. And the occasional angelfish (hi Ell). :)

Bubba stands (or sits, actually) corrected.

bad analogy, I have not encountered any sharks either. A schitzophrenic or two, maybe, but no sharks.

(side note: I must exude "Bubbaness". I have been called that on many more than one occasion. Now I know it isn't just my appearance!) :D

I'm writing a novel. I've done short stories and I will have my degree in English(Master's) when I graduated in December. I don't think I need short story practice.

Your title "My first attempt at writing" and your introductory text contradict yourself.

It's from his short story called "Here There Be Tygers", which is story number two in Skeleton Crew.
