Need help.....gang leader....priest?

Hello,

I cannot think of this book for the life of me i read it about 5 years ago and lost it and would like to rebuy it.....

It deals with a priest that goes to a city and finds a gang and talks to a gang leader and tries to preach the word of god.....but i guess the moral of the book was how the pastor got together a bunch of rival gangs together at a gathering in a certain building....but then later on in the book he turns one of the gang leaders to quit the gang and preach the word as well....and there is also a movie of the book as well but cannot recall the name of it whatsoever.....

Hi Cadotta and welcome. I think the book sounds like 'The Cross and the Switchblade' by David Wilkerson. Read it many years ago and it left quite an impression on me too.
