LOL, I also use the selective hearing thing. It is also my left ear. I think it was from the car / train accident I had as a youngster. There were cinders ground into my ear. Course that was the lesser of my injuries. The fractured neck was a bit more serious.abecedarian said:<Deaf in one ear and can't hear outta' the other>
I use this one ALL the time! I really am deaf in my left ear, due to severe ear infections and high temps when I was a baby..
another phrase I like to use is "selective deafness"
this is very useful when deeply engrossed in my latest book..and someone calls me to do a chore
