what would you buy in this moment if you could buy anything? what would you do with it and why would you buy it? :)

a 4x4 SUV. we need one to tow the boat and be able to throw the mini bike into so we can do some camping this summer.

admittedly, with gas prices this high it's not such a great idea, but we'd only drive it when going on a trip anyway (we have a Honda for daily use)

what about you, Honeydevil?

i would buy the house my family built about 7 years ago... i hate the idea that they have to pay for it the next 25 to 30 years, and it would make them happy...

That's a really nice idea. I suppose if I were smart I would "buy" my house since I'll be paying for it for another 29 years.

However, the first thing that came to mind was a really nice hammock. I'd want a two person one so that I could stretch out in it and let the dog come up too. It would have to be rope or canvas (none of those cheap nylon ones). I might think about a removable cover for it too so that I would be able to relax in the sun during the day and have something to drape the mosquito netting off of at night.

Jenem has a good point too though. Perhaps I should buy a new SUV. We already have one SUV, but we need another. Our new house has two huge hills (one is a very small mountain) between it and work. I had a lot of trouble in my car this past winter and actually started to slide downhill once. I want to get the Highlander Hybrid, but don't have the money for it. So I'll end up settling for something cheaper and environment smothering. :(

A used book store.

I would run it and love it! I'd have magazines that could be read for free as people lounge on couches drinking great (and NOT free) coffee/tea.

I'd specialise in certain genres and loan the shop out for free to book clubs (as long as I am allowed to be there!).

Oh, dreams!

I've always said that I wish I had the money to buy a big, expensive SUV. That way, I could forgo the SUV and buy a book store!

I don't particularly want to buy a house outright even! Right now I'm desperate enough that just to be given the deposit money to put down would be a supreme gift. Saving is hard :(

I would like to buy every square inch of available water front property left on the earth....

the reasons should be obvious....

Things... everyone wants to own things.

I am bewildered by that!

What about happiness, not ownership of a house or a big vehicle.

That's the way the original question was asked....

And what's wrong with wanting things? What's wrong with wanting security in owning something? What's wrong with dreaming of financial security? Many of the problems that face all adults, and married couples, and families revolve around money....and usually the lack of it.

Being able to provide security from some of the major issues that humans face would be a very great thing. Plus it could open doors that otherwise might never be opened. If your house was paid in full, maybe you could afford to open that used book store. Or maybe you could send your child to a better college....the options that could be opened are numerous...

I see nothing wrong with dreaming for, working for, and striving for more....

I would buy out this house that I bought just a couple of years ago, and immediately use my newly freed funds to buy another!

Hmm... everyone seems to like houses. But I really like Geenh's idea of a bookstore. If I had the disposable cash, I'd set up a specialty bookstore, selling only the very best speculative fiction. Biography? Next shop, please...

I really wouldn't want to own my own book shop. People messing with my books, touching them and ruining them? No way!

Oh mehastings.. you can buy something that makes you happy, like a book store!

A book store would make me happy. Cause then I could quit my job and spend all my time reading and suggesting books to people (this was my favorite part about working in a bookstore).

I think I need to win the lottery. :( The odds are a zillion to one though since I don't play the lottery...

Hi, honeydevil

Has it got to be a thing or can we also buy people?

if you think that the person you want to buy is on ly worth a certain amount of money, suit yourself..
