If only someone had told me that before I ended up on crutches!

Always go against the rules.

Don't look before you leap - it spoils the surprise. Crutches are a nice addition.

Have you ever tried to get your hands on black leather and chrome crutches? With deaths head ornamentation? It's not easy and a man in my position can't be seen on common or garden crutches.

When I was twenty seven my doctor told me that I'd be in a wheelchair by the time I was forty. I always pictured it as being an electric one based on the bottom half of a Dalek (like Davros). Anyway that was a couple of years ago and now that I'm in my prime there's no sign of me needing a wheelchair anytime soon (although I do have a nice black walking stick).

When I was 6 I was diagnosed with polio. My parents were told that I would never walk again. I have few memories of it except for being in pain, and getting out of bed one day and falling on my face because my legs didn't work. (that explains a few things, huh? ;) )

I wish I knew the name of that Doctor so I could do a jig on his grave. :D
