Painting Walls (weee it's a simple poem)

Like what the thread title said, it's a simple poem I wrote, nothing really too deep about it... the type of poem almost anyone can understand and somehow relate to. I was inspired when I was watching my dad paint the walls of my grandma's house. Although I think walls and paint are used a lot in poems, but all the same, it was interesting to write. Read on, and as usual, I'd like to hear your comments/suggestions. :)

Painting Walls

He paints his wall in crimson
To cover up yesterday's faults
Choosing to ignore their insults
And stop listening to their taunts.

He paints his wall in yellow
And forgets about all the regrets
To relieve himself of the lies and deceit
And be true to himself instead.

He paints his wall in purple
Respect he's long been hoping for
Tired of his life of sex and vice
The life he truly abhorred.

But soon his wall begins to peel
His past in perfect view...
He abandons his once hope-filled plans...
His plans to start anew.

'tired of sex'. it was from their second album, pinkerton (the one everyone hated) ... which was the only weezer album I ever liked.

since you said you liked it, then i guess it's a good thing. :D

my poems are driving me nuts, I want to have them published already. :(

thanks, you made me feel better about myself. ;)

I'm looking forward to binding my poems, so that i won't be worried about the scraps of paper flying everywhere and getting lost, never to be found again.

Thank you {Tigress} (I don't know your name yet :()

And thank you Bryan! :)
First, call me Tig! That cage { } is much, much to difficult to type. LOL Oh, and I'm Kristie, by the way -- nice to meet you. :)

I like this one! Reminds me of an Edna St. Vincent Millay poem, The Plaid Dress. You should check out her stuff, you'd like it, I think.

I really like it! My friend used to say every morning you start with a white wall, sometimes there is a few scratches on it from the past, but you can paint it however you want. Your poem reminded me of that.
