We're both very much visionaries Sergo, or two guys talking crap on an internet board. One of the two...

Oh, I am surely talking crap.
BTW, what about the smoke where you are?
They talk here about the smoke being not hazardous, but that people are advised not to stay outdoors for long and keep windows closed...

Obviously; me too...

I live about 40-50 miles away but I'm not downwind. As far as I know there are no signs of the smoke having a major effect on the environment. Apperently that could only happen in the unlikely event it rains...

I see.
It seems this month is special: we had a swimming pool collapsing on the swimmers again, several major natural gas explosions (I heard they had one in the States too), poison coming from China after their chemical factory exploded etc.
People seem to be too tired to do things right.

Unlikely event... We have rains or snow almost every day here in December... That's "Cloudy Albion" for you...

I saw that, has it happened before then?

Yes, sure - we had a Transwaal swimming - recreation complex in Moscow disintegrated two years ago or so, with many people killed and the architect claiming that Chechen terrorists must had taken part in it, blowing away one of the columns, and FSB covering up for them.
After everything had been thoroughly investigated the architect was found guilty.

Well, I think we all have to hold our hands up to that one.

Do not remember if I mentioned it to you, but I had seen with my own eyes a natural gas explosion back in 1966 or so: a three storey house had been totally demolished, less than five minutes after we walked past it. So natural gas is a bit risky thing, especially in not too experienced hands.
But I imagine all Britain uses it, and even I just installed the gas heating equipment at my dacha...

Yeah, I did some checking back and I do remember this now.
