I also thought the violence and gore was over the top for #2 and was unnecessary in many parts, especially in that it is supposed to be a "family" film.

Did anyone actually stay after the credits to see the epilogue?

I do agree that the movie felt overlong. I enjoyed it, but I didn't think a 150-minute running time was needed for this particular movie.

Donna Rose said:I was lookin for Keith Richards the whole time, and at the end, when the "guy" (I won't spoil) walks down the steps in the chick's hut, I was sure it would be him. Felt random, who it turned out to be, but compelling nonetheless...
First movie was way better, largely because it is a cohesive whole. But I loved Norrington in the 2nd one. The relationships between the main 3 characters got a little askew, and not in a way I could follow, and I'm usually pretty good at following those things. That was sort of a disappointment. And I didn't like the whole sea-creatures motif for Davey Jones's crew (and Davey Jones for that matter - although the actor playing Jones is great). But I admit it may grow on me, like the walking dead did in the 1st one.
Overall, right now, I like the 1st movie a lot better, but as a trilogy I'm sure the 2nd and the (eventual) 3rd movie will be dear to my heart, ultimately.
They just better get Keith Richards in there.
