Poem: Expectation

Expectation

Though you see nothing of what I am feeling

I accept that you do not understand

Your differences have blinded you from seeing

But you must let me alone withstand

Sometimes you perceive what others cannot

And you comfort me as well as you can

Other times I am left troubled and distraught

Gone unnoticed and feeling letdown

So much is expected that I can’t give

Try as I might I can’t be what you weren’t

It hurts so much at times I cannot live

If only someone could decrease this hurt

I am not what you’re expecting of me

An image of what you wanted to be

-Lindsay Beardall

Yeah, I am, but you'd be surprised how many people here aren't, and also how sacrilegious some mormons are...it's quite sad. I hate Utah.

This is the Writer's Showcase. Comment on her Poem, not her religion.

Geddit?

Cheers, Martin

This coming from one who, can almost never stay on topic.

Perhaps I was asking about her religion, because it is a part of her life. And it could further my understanding of her poem.

You didn't comment on her poem, you just want to f*ck with me. Lead by example, or don't expect me to follow you.

Calm down everyone, it's totally fine. All I have to say is that too many people of one religion in one place, with others around that are different, is never a good idea. I'm not super-duper religious either, but it isn't like a religion here, it's like a social class, and that's why I don't like Utah. It's just dumb here; but yes, the deserts are nice.
