Questions about DUNE

So I was looking through the si phy collection at my schools library and saw dune. I've been looking at reviews and synopsis's all around the web and they all say its about the politics. BORING! Is that really all the book is is the boring politics, or is it am adventure book with cool space fights and stuff? I can notSTAND politics in books.

Dune is great. One of my favorites.

When people say it is political, I don't think they mean governments and bureaucracy and such, but of inter-personal relations and "court politics" (like Game of Thrones). All of this set against a SciFi backdrop. There are no space fights but there are ground battles and hand to hand combat.

Dune forever changed how I view communication between people.

I agreed with sparkchaser. It's more about politics but it's true that you don't have a lot of fights. It's interesting to see the interaction about the characters and the chooses that they need to make depends of exceptionnal situation.
