would you be tempted to start a computer company with a pear as the logo so that all the TV shows who used a pear instead of that other well known fruit will have to pay you $$$ for using your logo?
Oh man you HAD to bring up french fries! I have been craving a nice packet of what we call 'slap chips' for months. Slap chips (slap = soft) are only made in certain kinds of take-aways. You can identify them by the fact that they are usually in an area you wouldn't associate with 'good' food and kind of look like you might get some really wonderful disease completely unknown to science if you eat there. But have no fear these places are the home of the perfect slap chip. Deep fried long enough to be cooked to a soft doughy perfection but not so long they turn golden and crispy. Served folded into sheet of white paper drenched in vinegar and salt the mountain mushes down into each other so that you just pull out a big blob. Also perfect served on bread.
This picture is a bit sacrilegious - it has boerewors and tomato sauce (ketchup although ketchup is not tomato sauce!) on it.
Chips, paper, shop too clean! Those aren't going to be good chips! Actually I can see they are too crispy and separate.
