I guess because it makes sense to compare apples to apples. That being said, I look forward to the review that compares some up and coming American Idol winner to a howler monkey.

If the new job moves one towards a better career path. Better meaning a direction that is aligned with one's goals. In our case, dh took a 20% cut to get to a job that got him off shift work, which was better for our family life and allowed him time to finish his degree, which lead to a better job within the company.

I don't know, I've from Kansas, where we don't HAVE accents..Canadians sound just like us, only different. :flowers:

There is little difference in General American English and General Canadian English. There are some dialect properties that you can use to distinguish the two, most notable is the Canadian pronunciation of words containing ou. The Yanks will say out (aut) while the Canuck will say out (oot). Other than that, the accents follow the same regional patterns along the border. It is nothing like if you put a Scot, an Irishman and a Welshman in a room together with a few pints apiece.
