I don't want you guys slating my piece of work unless i can slate yours!!!

I've posted stuff in the Writers' Showcase section - you can slate that if you want.

would you want me to just post it as a message on this site? Or is there somewhere else for this?

Again, Writers' Showcase. ;)

Thank you for making that point, but i generally refer to both sexes as chaps and guys, as i'm incredibly lazy with the terms i use. Apologies if i've upset anyone though.

laser is such a cool name, i may ask my friends at home to start calling me that!

I didn't mind the guy bit - my daughter calls everybody guy -, so I thought nothing of it, but "my good man" made me laugh.

Sorry, laser. I looked at those acronyms, but I've never been so desperate to read that part of the newspapers, so I can't help. :D

I hear what you're saying, but as i'm not a great writer, the most suitable means of testing/comparing our literature is by writing under the same restrictions.

This is why i propose we do chapter 2. Do you know any of these damn accronyms? Although as clueless pointed out, admitting knowing their meanings could cause mild embarrassment!

OKay, here you go:

  • TV - television
  • WF - White female
  • Ww - no idea
  • LTR - long term relationship
  • SBCF - single black chubby female, maybe
  • SWF - single white female

I think she may be making a few up.

I see. Hopefully Stewart can reveal their meanings......we must have faith in our Glaswegian ambassador.

You are a clever chap, you had completed the task before i'd even managed to post my reply!!

And you've already done your chapter 2.......damn.......i'll print off chapter 1 from the site before i leave work...... ..............i'm going to have to think for a long time about this one!

i hope the printed copy doesn't fall out of my pocket on the way home.....it'd be just a tad uncomfortable!! What would the papers be saying about Laser in the morning??

Er, BBW ...

...interestingly it means fat minger

Others missing from your list are tel/jo meaning "dirty phone calls" and a description for signifying whether the male is circumcised. ;)

Chubby doesn't necessarily mean fat minger. It can be (and often is) used as an affectionate term for someone who is rather well built - it has nothing to do with their looks though.

So... still no bids. Only three days to go - last time, the first bid was placed with 5 days to go. Could it all be over for the Olympian Pen? What happens if nobody bids this time? Will there be a blank page in the finished book?

Maybe you will need to get someone to publish Peter's address again to bring him out of the woodwork in order to ask him. ;)

i read american girls chapter a couple of times over the weekend, it may take me a fair while to complete the task that i have agreed to.......i'm finding it very difficult to get into a writer/novellist mentallity......any suggestions???

Do you guys wear sandals??

Do you want to be a writer? Read Chekhov's "A Drama". It's only 3 or 4 pages long, but it will give you the first bit of advice every budding author needs. :D
