Read: 1984,the giver,brave new world...what next?

Hi im looking for a new book to read.
I just finished reading 1984 and loved it, now im looking for a new book to read with a similar theme. Something that doesnt neceserly have to be writen about a future time but rather just something where the guvernment suppreses its population to control it..fact or fiction doesnt matter.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks
