Whoa... so you have read all these in the past few weeks ?

Finished
Gomorrah- Roberto Saviano:star3:

Promise of Dawn-Romain Gary :star4:

Ramses the Damned - Anne Rice 3/5
I enjoyed it up until the part where Ramses resurrects Cleopatra. I felt it would have been much better without the addition of her. Ramses tries to defend her against the modern accusations of being a harlot of the ancient world, but when she's brought back to life, she does little else besides seduce men.

Dead Beat: A Novel of the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Right now, it's one of my favorite installments--hysterical, thrilling, and with some neat character and plot twists.

Continental Drift by Russel Banks. :star4:

Way outside of my normal reads, it was better than I expected.

Ho-har, Saliotthomas!

Keen eyes there! I had intended that post for Recently Purchased, but when it didn't turn up there I was wondering what happened to it. Now we know! Many thanks for catching me out on that. It was very puzzling.

Yes, Sparky, please move it if you can. Otherwise deleting would be OK also. No objection from me.
Thanks for offering,

Just finished Ian Rankin's "Bleeding Hearts." Not a Rebus, this one, It is about a haemophiliac hit man, being pursued by a really obnoxious American P.I.
The story is told from the mouths of the assassin and the private eye.
This is one of the best thrillers I have read since The Girl with the Dragon tattoo.
A real page turner. You won't want to put it down.

Demon Seed by Dean Koontz :star5:
This was a good one. I love that it was told from the point of view of the sociopathic AI. I couldn't put it down.

Just finished a fine detective novel. Robert B. Parker's, School Days. Spencer, the P.I. is very much like Phillip Marlow. A terrific read. I shall be looking out for "Spencer" thrillers again.
Two other Parker books I can recommend are, Poodle Springs and Perchance to Dream. Once again keeping up the Chandler traditon.

I finished Along came A Spider, by James Patterson. Excellent book. Unforgettable villain. I've moved onto the second in the Alex Cross series, Kiss The Girls. Has me hooked.

Ah! I remember that book from way back. One of my favorite Anne Rice books aside from the Vampire Chronicles.
