I love the sale cart at the library..today I found and rescued:

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich-Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Life and Death in Shanghai-Nien Cheng

I swear, I just looked yesterday...I don't think they were there:eek:

The same book I purchased at the library's sale cart. Funny coincidence. :)

That is funny! What are the odds? I've learned to check the cart every time. This is a smalltown library, and you never know what they'll decide they don't have room for, or someone will donate for sale. Just before Christmas they culled probably thirty old VHS movies from their collection, and we brought home a number of family favorites. I'm still eyeing the travelog films...

Bought the boxed set of the Dark Elf trilogy by R.A. Salvatore.
and Building Harlequin's Moon by Larry Niven & Brenda Cooper. :D

All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy. I got it at a garage sale for 50¢.

Yay garage sales..I can't wait til spring and the beginning of garage sale season! We're in the middle of an ice storm at this writing, so this is NOT a good day for saling:p

And, to round off the day:

Disturbing The Peace, Richard Yates
Babbit, Sinclair Lewis

Babbit was required in my English Comp class when I was senior in high school,,probably about the time you discovered Scotland:p I hated it at the time..I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it.
