I did pretty good at the annual Symphony Orchestra book sale fundraiser. Most of the paperbacks are $2.00 or less. I also donated a big box of books to them this year.

That's the hidden bummer factor when shopping my local library sales..having to paw over books I personally donated. To really make things ugly.. try having your kids drool over the very same titles they used to turn their snotty nose upright over when the books resided at your house(and were already paid for):rolleyes: That's when you slap them five when they stick out their grubby hands for book money:p


Really folks... I love kids... really!

Oh, I walked into my local Angus & Robertson bookstore, walked up to the counter and said: "I need new books. I have a hundred dollar budget as of this moment and I have absolutely no idea what to get."
Turns out the person didn't work there and was a workman installing new shelves so I
had to repeat that wonderful speech of mine.

I'd ended up buying a whole paperback compilation of the Chronicles of Narnia. All seven (or is it eight?) stories in one!

I haven't read it yet.

I also bought all the classic titles, or at least I think it's all classic.

Treasure Island
Pollyana (or something of the sort)
Secret Garden (I'm sure of that title)
Anne of Green Gables (now I'm sure THAT'S a classic, it is... right?)

I think some more, but the names escape me.

Ahh, before you laugh, they were on sale! SALE!!! Book sales are the only sales I fall to.
