The Buried Pyramid-Jane Lindskold

Saturday was a dream day. The Printer's Row Book Fair was going on downtown chicago & they had some amazing finds. One particular booth had a sign that said "hardcovers $5, paperbacks $2", so we entered and found two great hardcovers, Poems and Problems by Nabokov and In Evil Hour by Gabriel García Márquez. Turns out that the sign did not apply to that booth, and the books totaled at $275. Needless to say we were bummed out. Still, I was able to get Fathers and Sons by Ivan Turgenev in a leather bound, The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde in paperback, and Routines by Lawrence Ferlinghetti all for under 20 bucks.

A Short History of Tractors in Ukranian by Marina Lewycka

Any comments/opinions?
That title sure caught my attention. The book sounds interesting, but I noticed it's currently in print from "Penguine (Non-Classics)." Oh the indignity.

The Virgin Suicides is wonderful. If you haven't seen the movie, you should see it at some point. A Secret History is a great read too. It's my sister's favorite book.

Bright, spanking new hard-cover right off the Borders new-books shelf at full-up price, such was my impatience to read it. (Enough for apology!)

Ah good! I was looking for a change, after just having finished American Pastoral with Philip Roth's fierce and blazing style.
