I found the first Jack Reacher novel today, Killing Floor by Lee Child...I was supposed to be looking for a movie, not books. Thanks to whomever recommended it, I was playing attention.

I have recently picked up:

1899 red cloth/gold bound copy of Little, Brown and Co.'s Black, the Story of a Dog by Alexandre Dumas. Gift condition for $3.50.

Nearly new condition first print copies of Magic Kingdom for Sale-Sold and Wizard at Large by Terry Brooks. Perfect dust covers and unbroken spines. $14.00 for both.

A rough copy of Pharmacopoeia of the United States of America (Tenth Decennial Revision-Hardback) 1926. It is full of notes, which I find endearing, and Google-ing the guy who bought it new is fun. Plus it came with bonus material. Like a bank deposit slip from 1932, a business card from the late 30's-40's from a guy in Arizona, and a blank sales slip from a company that, long ago was brought before the Federal Trade Commission over an arsenic based product. All perfectly preserved. Also, it is a tabbed reference book that has ALL of its tabs. $3.00.

American Fever: A Tale of Romance & Pestilence
Peter Christian Hall :star4:

An excellent read. Imagine that the flu pandemic is here and now. Are you ready? That is how this book reads. It's a interesting look at what might happen to our society should the flu hit us with the furor that many have been predicting for years. Lots of information about influenza history and it's journey to our current H5N1 variety. The main character is a likable guy thought he was ready. He suffered from doomsday-prepper delusion syndrome.

Ironically, I managed to catch a bad cold just as I was starting this book. Talk about your realistic atmosphere. My kindle is still sticky from the Nyquil shots and cough drops.

I just got a ipad and downloaded the kindle app. I recently purchased and read:

1. Anarchy of The Gods by James Ash
This book surprised me! A friend suggested it, and I almost didn't buy it because I opted for the Preston and Child book that I mention below, instead. It's an epic fantasy about the origin of mankind that goes into quite a bit of detail about free will and the origins of existence. I thought the author painted an awesome world, and the character development was also great. The book was also very deep. There were some sex scenes I could do without (straight and gay), but the rest of the book was excellent. I was really shocked and I can't wait to read the next one in the series!!! I definitely recommend anyone to give this book a shot.

2. Two Graves by Preston & Child.
I really enjoyed this book!! This book was all around great. I felt that overall the plot was good, but there were some times when it was a little bit slow. Still, there is a secret hideout in a volcano and revenge. It was pretty much what I expected from this genre and from these authors, and I'd recommend it to others.

Got The Killing Ground by Jack Higgins. I haven't ever read anything by him, but so far, I like it.
Revan by Drew Karpyshan
Revolution by Jennifer Donnelley.

Lynn "Buck" Compton - Call of Duty
Dick Winters - Beyond Band of Brothers
John Green - An Abundance of Katherines
Alan Bradley - The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (German version)
Colm Tóibín - Brooklyn (German version)
Stephen Chbosky - The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Julie Klassen - The Girl in the Gatehouse
Michael Malone - The Four Corners of the Sky (German version)
