Yay! Hollywood video is doing the 4 for $20 & the 3 for $25 deal on their previously viewed DVDs.

Normally, I take advantage of the 4 for 20, but the 3 for 25 selection was excellent.

So, here's what I got (haven't seen any of these):
Children of Men
Casino Royale
(Lenny Nero was going on & on about it, so I had to finally get it. :p )
Babel

I really wish they had Pan's Labyrinth (which I have seen). I would've gotten that over Casino Royale.

And it was also a toss up between Casino Royale & Curse of the Golden Flower. I called my boyfriend and he seemed really excited about C. Royale... so yeah.

Now, let's count how many times I wrote "Casino Royale.":p

Five ;).

Went to Costco and purchased the special editions of A Fish Called Wanda and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves for the low prices of $9.99 and $8.99.

Picked up a few during deepdiscount.com 20% off sale:

Night Train Murders ~ this is basically an Italian version of Last House on the Left. Probably the best of it's imitators.

Lady Chatterley's Lover ~ this the Just Jaeckin(Emmanulle, Story of O) directed adaptation of the Lawrence classic, starring Emmanuelle herself(with a dubbed voice), Sylvia Kristel. An 80's late-nite cable classic.

Porky's ~ titled "the one size fits all edition", this one comes with some good extras, mainly an interview with Bob Clark(Black Christmas, A Christmas Story), who was killed in a car accident a couple of months ago.

Went on a little spree yesterday, and got the following for under $50 (Australian):

The Neverending Story II - the first was too expensive
Zoolander
Silent Hill
Stripes - Extended Cut
28 Days Later
Big Trouble In Little China - commentary featuring Kurt Russell! Huzzah! (I haven;t actually listened to it yet)

and

Field of Dreams - for my brother, although we did watch it when we got home.

I just got Memoirs of a Geisha today because it was on sale for $10. I really liked the movie anyway (the women & costumes, etc. are beautiful!), my boyfriend still hasn't seen it, & I can see myself watching it several more times in the future.

I loved the book but held back from watching the film as they never seem to be as good. Maybe I'll watch it now :)

Last movie I bought was Crying Freeman. I'm a big manga/martial arts fan :D

I have received another two rental dvd's by post.

Happy feet which I watched yesterday. It's all about penguins; there are hundreds, no thousands of them. I never want to see another penguins for a least a year.

Pan's Labyrinth had a good write-up but have just noticed that it is all in foreign. Its got sub-titles.

Should I watch it? Can anyone recommend it. I'm not that good at reading while watching a film.:)

Lost in Translation Scarlet is awesome and Murray is incomparable. Maybe not the greatest movie but very good. I like it very much.

I just got Agnes of God, with Meg Tilly and Jane Fonda. It was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and I really enjoyed watching it again! It's a bit creepy, though, but I like that.

recommended by a friend - As It Is In Heaven

just bought : "As it is in heaven" which had been nominated for a foreign film Oscar (can't remember the year). Producer Kay Pollock (Swedish or Danish - excuse my ignorance  )

It was recommended to me by a friend and shows small town mindedness as well as gregarious loving humanity. At times reminded me of Chocolat in the way it characterized types.

Don't expect a fast action type of movie but one that keeps you thinking about human nature, relationships and the beauty of the small things.

Flyboys~ loved it, and I wanted to buy it, but I could not find it anywhere!! (which is strange considering its pretty new) anyways, went to the movie store and they had an extra on the rack that they were selling...

Apocalypto~ UGH. dirty, un-needed FILTH!!!! AH!! I chucked it. dont get it.

I just bought Labyrinth and a 2-disc collection of 42 Betty Boop cartoons. I've been meaning to get Labyrinth on DVD forever so that I could retire my cassette.

X-Files Season 2. Yay! It was originally $41.99, but this week seasons 1-9 are on sale for $20.00. I'm so happy!

Cinderella Man~ great movie, except I could not stand the swearing. Bleeped it out. Otherwise, a great movie with *GASP!!!!* Russell Crowe!!!!! *faints* :p

I ordered Legend off of Amazon.com. It should be at my house shortly.
Oh! I loove Legend! I haven't seen that in so long. I'll have to add it to my to-buy list.

This past week, I also got Arrested Development Season 3. My boyfriend picked up Season 2 the same day. Both (or all AD seasons) were on sale for $15.99.
