Anyone heard of or read any Richard Kluger books?
I'm always amazed that people hardly talk about or even heard of this great writer. He has written some of the best non-fiction books I've ever read, including:
Simple Justice (history of the Civil Rights movement leading up to Brown vs. Board of Education)
The Paper (story of the New York Herald Tribune)
Ashes to Ashes (the tobacco industry)
Kluger always exhibited very incisive analyses of the issues coupled with a nice narrative touch. In Simple Justice, he accomplished in one chapter what other books failed to do (as far as I was concerned): summarize the heart of the Civil War with respect to Blacks and slavery.
He has attempted fiction but they haven't been successful.
