Robin McKinley

McKinley is a good author but her stories are a little slow at first. I've read two books by her - Beauty: a Retelling of Beauty and the Beast, and The Blue Sword. What do you think of her?

I liked A Knot in the Grain. For a while I read those stories to get to sleep, which isn't to say that they're boring, but that they are soothing.

I read Sunshine earlier this year and am holding on to it for a second read. It is a very original, adventurous and imaginative tale involving magic elements, vampires and lots of dessert. A very fun read.

Absolutely LOVE her books. Spindle's End is probably my favorite, though The Hero and The Crown is up there, as well. I have yet to read Beauty, but plan to do so soon.
