Searching for author and title

I am searching for a book that I read a few year's back. It featured a widow who was trying to rebuild her life by becoming a teacher. Seems like it was set in the past. It was a Reader's Digest Condensed as well. Does anyone have an idea of author or title? Or if not can you direct me to a site where I could search for it? Thanks.

I would need more run down on the plot to begin to search my readings to help.

But I am an avid reader who has been around 1000 years and have some great good books for romance and not just bed hoppers.....good stories with interesting, intelligent characters......I like some depth to what I read.
Then of course since I got the book bug by the time I could read and go to the library, my tastes have changed thru the years.

MORNING GLORY by Spencer was a keeper and I kept it.

Do you read only contemporary setting books. I like them all....just as long as it has interesting plot and interesting characters. That causes me some problems because too many books just flung off the press with suggestive covers are written by 14 year olds who just discovered hormones.....
