Hello, I am new here, and have been searching for quite a while for a certain children's fiction series of books, I think there were 3 books. I read them either in the late 60s or early 70s. The stories have to do with a girl in a very poor family, I believe they were sharecroppers or migrant workers. Her one dream is to have a real home with a picket fence. The stories were also beautifully illustrated in black and white. I remember in one story they are picking oranges in Florida and there's a hurricane, I think one of the family members broke their leg and her "Ma" had a baby. At the end of the series, she gets her wish for a permanent home. I hope someone out there is familiar with these books...thanks!
