Solved - "Barney" by Will Stanton

It's a famous short story from many years ago about an intelligent rat. It's written in diary form, the rat misspells one letter all the time, the story leads you to believe the scientist is writing the book and he's on an island, in the end it turns out the rat wrote the story. That's all I remember, help?
