Solved - Lewis Barnavelt series by John Bellairs

this is probably not going to be enough for anyone to help me, but here it goes. it was a book series for young adults. It was about a boy who like, solved mysteries and went on crazy adventures. I believe he lived with his grandparents in a big, old house. In one of the books he went back in time. I hope someone can figure this out from what little I can recall. Thanks.

Are you talking about 'Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox' by Eoin Colfer?

My net search shows that Artemis Fowl's mother contracts a debilitating disease which can only be cured by the brain fluid of the lemur. Artemis opens up the time stream and thus travels back in time, allowing him to save the lemur, and his mother.

I hoped that someone's incorrect suggestion would lead me to what I was looking for in the "people who bought this title also bought this:" section of amazon. Yours totally did.
