Hello to everybody:
I only remember a couple of things of this book, hopefully you guys can help me in getting the title and/or auhor's name
The front cover is dark.... could be navy blue-black or something like that, and the title print is some sort of "shining" letters...
This is a book I read back in 1998-1999. It is a very good thriller, and of course I don't remember the author, and barely some words about the title:
Nine levels down, or it could be nine leves under.... something like that.
It is about this serial killer, that in his "normal person" time, works as an engineer for the drain system of a big city. This city could be New York but I am not sure about it.
He makes a mistake (as always) and eventually is caught and sent to jail.
While in jail there is this young doctor (or may be a psychiatrist, don't remember) that works NINE LEVELS DOWN, at this prison, that is trying to improve a new treatment to control schizophrenic serial killers, by putting a chip in their brain, that should be triggered by the patient thoughts and brain activity... so she implants this chip into the killer's brain and calibrates it by making the killer go mad.... and everything seems to go right, untill one time she is running some tests on this serial killer and suddenly everything goes terribly bad, this guy kills the guardians, and runs away, kidnapping the doctor.
Then the manhunt beggins thru the drain system.
The detective that arrested the killer, on the first time, knows that the killer is underground, and goes underground as well.... he almost drowned by following the killer.... and so on.
I apologize for misspellings or wrong grammar, I am from Mexico, and I read better than I write in english.
Thanks for your atention!!
