Solved - six (or is it five) children fighting the ancient ones

this has really been bugging me.

trying to find a book (or rather, a series of books) which i read about 10 years back. have been googling for the past 2 hours and its getting me nowhere. general plotline as follows:

6 (or five, it escapes me now) children are battling the 'ancient ones' in the distant past; they succeed and mange to drive them back to where they came from. however one of them dies in the process.

fast forward 2 thousand years (or so) and they are reincarnated in modern times. the queen of the ancient ones is free and she's trying to get the king out. the 5 (or 6) fight them in england (at some nuclear power plant, which is sitting over some old portal/ old stones), peru (where the nazca lines are the doorway for the ancient ones to come out of) and the US (where the queen of the ancient ones has an empire built on drugs and has a syringe shaped skyscraper to announce it). i htin kthey are a series of books.

really bugging me, that i can remember the plotlines but i can't remember the titles or character's names!

please help, tearing my hair out over this. :)

I don't think I've read these books, but this bit:

sounds very familiar. I'll keep thinking.

Finally solved this one, but I guess miasimpleman will not be around to see my answer. :(

Anyway, the author is Anthony Horowitz, author of the Alex Rider series of novels. I think he is re-writing, or at least editing, the books and they are being re-released. The first, which I have just read, is called Raven's Gate. The series is "The Power of Five".

Five children, four boys and a girl, will fight the evil Old Ones. Raven's Gate deals with a teenage boy called Matt who has certain powers. He is sent to Yorkshire to live with an evil old lady in a strange, middle-of-nowhere village (think League of Gentlemen). The finale does indeed take place at a disused nuclear power station. It's a good read for teenagers; rather unsettling with some nasty violence and horrible deaths, which I'm sure they'll love!
