Stephen King: Eyes of the Dragon

Who has read this novel? Is it worth the time to read?

I want to use this particular novel as a gateway into the fantasy genre- Dune series, GRRM's A Song of Ice and Fire series, etc.

I tried reading it years ago when it first came out and couldn't seem to get into it. I finally read the whole thing last summer and I was surprised how much I liked it this time around. I would recommend it.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo!

It's a book about an emo kid with napkin angst. If it wasn't written by King no one would have bought it. There are so many better books to read to start off in fantasy. In fact just start with GRRM.

I really liked it. Worth the read, even if you haven't read much fantasy before (I'd rather read EOTD again than, say, anything by J.K. Rowling).

I got this book more than two years ago and I never read it... I don't know why! I think I lost it.
But I remember that it looked pretty interesting and the cover showing fantasy was quite appealing.

I have read it and it is an enjoyable read, but I don't know if it's the best choice to start an interest in fantasy. Still it was amusing since it incorporates King's characters from the Dark Tower series. The Dark Tower pops up a lot in King's other novels that have no connection to Roland's journey and in turn the characters appear in the Dark Tower, don't they? I remember reading a mention of it in Hearts In Atlantis and thinking, "Shut up unless you're going to tell about the further adventures of my favorite gunslinger."

My only interest in reading The Stand stems from the interest of Flagg.

There does exist links in other King books to those that make up the Dark Tower series. To see a graphic of the connections click here.

King's Dark Tower books are the backbone of all his writings. So I understand.

Fun?

It's going to be an uphill battle, my friend.

You'll be panting and gasping and the LONG WALK will feel like eternity. :)

The Eyes of the Dragon is a good book. I just finished it a few weeks ago and I must say I was entertained. I give it four-out-of-five stars. Thumbs up.
