Suggestions for detective books

I like Sherlock Holmes and Hercule poirot novels, abd I need books with intelligent protoganist and mind games , I doesn't matter if it is slow paced or long.

I don't read an awful lot of detective stories but I enjoyed Henning Mankell's Wallander series. Tess Gerritsen's Rizzoli & Isles series are entertaining as well, with a lot of gory details, if that's your sort of thing.

I feel may u like to Dan Brown's books too and best book is "The Da Vince Code"
