Will, I am disappoint. Surely Hound of the Baskervilles counts as memoir?!

My suggestion, Hans Christian Andersen: The Life of a Storyteller by Jackie Wullschlager.

I agree with eclair. There are definitely epistolary elements in The Hound of the Baskervilles which would make it memoir-like. Alas, I've already cast my vote, but perhaps someone else can pick-up this torch and run with it.
