I thought everyone here looked far too happy so I have come to depress everybody with my melancholic, if not outright misanthropic, tendencies.

I've got my blog up and my newbie post. All I need now is to be able to think of something intelligent to say and I will be away...

I have become a bit of an extremist of late. I swing from (positive) noir, when I can find it, to comedy novels like Janet Evanovich and Carl Hiaasen. Ultra-dark to ultra-light without much in between.

So, people like Charles Bukowski, Louis-Ferdinand Celine, Knut Hamsun, Ivan Turgenev, Peter Hoeg, Vicki Hendricks, Raymond Chandler and quite a few others.
