Do you think I should see a specialist?(a shrink maybe)lol
Threads like this get closed because what's the point in being able to make threads on individual books and opt to have thoughts on them all clustered away in a single thread? If you want to say what you thought of a book then why not do a quick search to see if there's a thread on it (some of those mentioned already have threads) and, if not, start one. It doesn't matter if you are only saying a single sentence about it.
So,who exactly is closing this thread? It's on it's 2nd page, and has had a decent response. Fair enough,I could start a separate thread for every book I read, tho' I've only mentioned two up to now. It's been interesting reading other members thoughts on their books.
You're right.. it has been nice, but it would be better if we(pointing fingers at myself here too) all would start a thread or contribute to existing threads for each of our books. That would create the greatest growth for the forum.
It is also nice later when you are doing a search for a book and it is not swallowed up in a larger topic thread. In the past I have wanted to get some info/insight on a book and it would only be mentioned in the currently reading and/or just finished threads that were dauntingly long and the search function does not take you right to the post with you keywords in it.
The last book I read was "Fingersmith" by Sarah Waters. It was a great, and exciting read. I've just learned that it was created into a BBC series. I am hesitant to check it out, you all know how film adaptations can make or break your imagination.
If any of you have read this book, can you suggest anything similar?
