Top Ten Shoplifted Items in UK

Oh organised shoplifting... hmmm. People organise to shoplift razorblades? Sheesh. expensive stuff I can understand, you can sell it and make money on it, but I didn't figure you could make all that much on razorblades... of all things...

The razorblades we are talking about aren't cheap stuff. They cost about $18 for eight blades. That's not cheap.

How exactly do you go about concealing a steak anyway?

I saw a video on TV of a woman stealing a turkey. She stuffed it under her shirt and walked out looking pregnant.

It's interesting that one would risk prosecution just to have smooth legs or cheeks. Or am I naive and there is a more nefarious purpose for the razor blades?

I think it is just an easy thing to steal. If your shopping list is going to cost you $100, why not knock it down to $80 and steal something very expensive and small? It's certainly easier than stealing a frozen turkey or a twelve pack of soda.

Relatively yes, it is. I know what you're talking about considering I use those expensive razor blades myself... but really. They're not *that* big a part of my monthly budget that I'd actually want to go through such bother to get them sheaper - now books on the other hand... there's something that could tempt me.

It might be hard to stuff a hardcover book down your pants and not walk out the door funny. But if you want to try it, go ahead-and let me know if you're successful! :D

You know, with such a challenge I may just try...

Coffee is on the list? That's one of the cheapest, if not money losing things for stores to sell. It could be worse, they could be shoplifting items of greater value than coffee.

I don't know up here coffee is running about $8.99 per pound  I was just reading this thread thinking, yep next time I go to the store I'm wearing some baggy clothes with big pockets :D

LOL-Where I live, that's the price of Starbucks in stores. Regular Folgers and other regular line coffee runs roughly $4.00.

Aw! I'm disappointed Jemima Aslana didn't notice my spunk comment. :(
Oh darling, I am SO sorry, do you think you can find it in your heart to forgive me? Even though I'm a regular visitor amongst friends and family in the Netherlands? :p
