Troy

if you are looking for the story that was the basis of the movie, you want to check out The Iliad by Homer (aka Homer's Iliad). you will find many differences between the movie and book (i have not read the book but i know the story well), but it is the basis of the movie nonetheless

bear in mind that there is not a single book covering the hole trojan war, there are several wrote in different years (even centuries).
i think there its a book from the movie, but there are very important differences bettween the movie and the classic history.
for example in the books the gods play a major role (some people even say that the books by homero are really about mankind impotence against the divine will). while in the movie gods are clearly put aside.

i dont know to much, what i know its from my high school years, and its pretty much resumed in this thread

are you talking about the classic trojan war, or about a book called "Troy" by Adele Geras, published in 2001

if its the last, i havent read it, it seems to be an adaptation, narrated by four trojan tennagers. all i can do its point the amazon link so you can check the editorial reviews. but i guess you already have

ok you don't have to be a genius but someone who knows a little bit about it i need to know some specific things.

3.Relationships between helen and andromadhe
4.deaths of hecter and achilles
5.achille's gold shield
6.signifigance of the gods
7.the wall
8.the war
9.multiple storylines
10.[Already done]
11.basic storyline and signifigant events
12.what role did the gods play in relation to the charecters and events?

sorry but i have to leave now, my girlfriend its waiting, but youll find the answer to most of the questions in the wikipedia link, and in the mala.bc.ca link, anyway when i get some free time ill try to check it
