Tv

It would help if I could get to the TV, but unfortunately there is a mound of furniture blocking the way.

When not upholsteraly-challenged, I like to watch all those American crime shows, CSI, Law and Order, that sort of thing, but my favorite show is The West Wing :)

I love watching tennis, badminton, football (the one played with the feet). These I'll probably look out for, but I watch whatever's on the sports channel.

Oh, and too bad I don't get Gilmore Girls here anymore.

yeah gilmore is cool!

The majority of the time the tv is on, it is on children's programming. But, when I do watch tv, it is usually Survivor, CSI, House, shows of that nature, cooking and needlework shows, sports or nature shows.

Hmm... lots of people like CSI here. How is CSI:New York?

Digression: Btw, cajunmama, I notice you're reading The Book of Dreams! That's the anthology, right?

The news, sports, Six Feet Under, Desperate Housewives, Carnivale (it's still in its pre-cancellation 1st season over here).

Cheers

Sometimes I turn on the TV and then become too busy to watch it. I make a point of watching new episodes of Grey's Anatomy, Lost, and The Apprentice. I also use my tv for watching anime and movies that I own.

Usually the news or a movie. The rest of the time they are mainly showing garbage reality shows.

Am I the only one that hates CSI? I get too annoyed at the bogus science in that show.

i really like csi, but the original...and law and order, svu is great! and, as much as i hate to admit it, i do watch some trashy mtv shows....like the real world...

I have zero tolerance for tv advertising and don't see the point of paying for high-end cable, so I only watch videos/DVDs, Independent Film Channel, Turner Classic Movies, occasionally PBS (which is mostly politically correct pablum crud) and BBC World News, which is the only show BBC America airs sans adverts. In fact, PBS now airs about 15 mins of sponsored 'messages' every hour between shows, so it's just as bad as commercial TV and their programming sucks too.

Yes, it is the anthology. I like it. I'll probably finish it tonite. And I never quite got into CSI: New York, but I faithfully watch or tape CSI: Miami, hey what can I say, David Caruso floats my boat ;) :D

did you notice they started showing advertisements in movie theaters?
Where I am someone recently decided that the youths of the nation are apparently not being respectful enough of the national anthem, and so from henceforth *every* single movie screening will be preceeded with the national anthem. It also supposedly fosters patriotism and increases the chances of our 'un ones actually memorizing the words.

It's been a long time since I've been to a theater to see a movie but I have heard the complaints from lots of other people. The only thing I want to see on a theater screen is previews and the movie I paid to see.

Here in the UK, we've had adverts at the cinema for a very long time. Sometimes there are some good ones, but mostly they're awful. You even used to get the occasional local one ("Why not visit our Indian restaurant after the film? We are on the second road on the left from this cinema.") I don't know about you, but I miss Pearl and Dean - that familiar tune piping up was an essential part of the cinema-going experience. Altogether now: Pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pa papapa, pa pa pa pa papapapa, PA!! :D (Non-UK people are now thoroughly bewildered).
