Tv

I watch basically 2 shows: Survivor and Friends (the latter of which is just repeats now because the cast decided 10 seasons was enough! :( )

If I turn on the tv, it's because I've heard there's been a major disaster and I want to watch the live coverage. We just don't watch very much regular programming. We don't have cable or satellite, and have to break out the coaxel cable to get even the 4 networks. My dd has a portable black and white set downstairs if we're desperate.
We started limiting our tv time the first year or so after we were married, and quickly learned that we weren't missing all that much. I learned to hate laugh tracks and soap operas.. We have occassionallt dipped back into the tv realm, but always on a limited basis. And we watch way too many movies..
The other day I was at my aunt's house, and her tv was on one of the police drama shows, whichever one had Rick Schroeder. As I was talking to the relatives, I noticed that Rick's character was interrogating someone who looked familiar.. it was an actor who'd been on The Buttercream Gang movies way back when.. and when it was over, and the credits were rolling, I wanted to rewind and pause it so I could see what that actor's name was... :D

There i got another question, (i'm just too lazy to start a new thread):
Do you change the channel when commercial comes on and what is your favorite commercial (sp?)??

I don't change the channel. My favorite commercial is this one about a truck. I can't remember what kind of truck. Someone asks what you'd do if you had that truck. A few guys answer with sensible answers, and then the hillbilly answers. You see the truck go off a ramp and jump some other trucks. While still in the air, the hillbilly says, "I'm gonna by me a boat." The camera moves so you can see a boat attatched to the truck jumping all the other trucks. :D

There are a few different versions of it. In one, the hillbilly says, "I'm gonna get my tools back from my neighbor." Then you see him drive into the neighbor's gargage. In another one, he says, "I'm gonna take my father-in-law camping." You then see him driving and his father-in-law in the backseat with a drooling rotteweiler on either side of him.

A variety of stuff really. I watch shows on Court TV (but I'm tired of the Michael Jackson trial...is it over yet?!), I watch A&E a lot, and the History Channel. As far as specific shows, I watch all three CSIs, Law & Order SVU, American Idol, 7th Heaven (I know, it's dorky but it's cute in an odd way), Cold Case, Crossing Jordan, Medium... see a pattern in the shows I like? Hehe.

I stopped watching TV last February when I found out that with every episodes of Friends I'm watching 10 minutes of commercials. That's 1 minute of commercials for every 2 minutes of Friends.

These stupid commercials are freaking me out! I don't wanna see them on TV or in cinemas. I hate them and I always started zapping when they came up.

Furthermore I prefer watching TV series and movies in English. It's just more fun. So DVD's are the clear choice.

when the commercials come on i zap through the whole thing, except if i see the m&m commercial... i love that thing.

Back home there are less commercial breaks, but these are longer. As children, we never had TV dinners. There was plenty of time to have dinner during a commercial break.
