Twilight

Did you try the library? Either way, I recommend you spend your money on Anne Rice or Poppy Z. Brite instead (assuming you haven't already) :p.
 
Is this the Stephanie Meyer book, the Dean Koontz one, or one of the other million that have probably been called Twilight?

i found an Anne Rice book just right out in the gutter called The Witching Hour, Ive never even tried to read it though.Think ill turn it in to the used store for credit. However on Twilight I tried to read it and found it boring BUT Meyers other book The Host i thought was amazing and read in 2 days.
 
I enjoyed it. I actually spent all day reading it yesterday. But, I'd check it out from the library rather than purchase it.
 
I own all four of the Twilight series books. It really just depends on your taste in books. It is a teen book, and it is a pretty easy read. A lot of my friends are pretty adicted to the series.
 
Twilight was disappointing for me. Try Dead Until Dark instead. I'm currently halfway through and can't put it down.
 
Well being slightly older than her 'target market' and an avid reader...

I think the Twilight series is MEH with an extreme overload following of what seems to be teenie boppers. It was all just so cheesy for me. I found myself laughing at odd intervals while reading this story.

I can't wait for Edward to die. Perfect bastard should taste the pain of dismemberment soon. He's like the over cliched epitome of the dreams of all girls, except lesbians. Thus, he is a cliche in himself. He makes me cringe.
 
Depends on your taste in books. My daughter in law is hooked on the series and can't wait for the movie ... she bought her ticket weeks ago.

If you like romantic vampires you should like it.

I prefer elves.

(Though I will probably get around to reading them out of sheer curiosity.)
 
I have all four in the series and I really couldn't put them down while I was reading them. They are mainly targeted for older teenage girls 15-18. It depends on your taste whether you will love it or hate it. I would recommend getting the first one 'Twilight' and if you like it you could get the rest- 'New Moon', 'Ecliose' and 'Breaking Dawn'.:star4:

I haven't yet read her other book 'The Host'- does anyone know if it is good? Assuming you liked the Twilight saga.

Doesn't Edward take out her car engine in one of the books to prevent her from leaving? And doesn't he also go to her house at night just to watch her sleep? Those aren't sweet gestures . . .
 
Edward only took the engine out of her car because he thought he was protecting her. And it was ok for him to watch her when she was sleeping because a. he can't sleep himself and b. its not like he was stalking her or anything they were IN LOVE. That makes everything ok. Its not like she was creeped out when she found out.
 
I finshed this book over the weekend and absolutely loved it! It's really light reading, nothing too complicated, but the love story is portrayed with such electricity it keeps you hooked! I finished it in three sittings (only because I had to put it down- would have preferred to read it right through!) I know this is geared towards 15-18 year olds but I even found myself falling in love with Edward's character!! It's well worth the read, really enjoyable. Started the sequel, New Moon, on Monday and can't wait to see the film this weekend.
 
Catcher~Rye, I totally agree with you isn't Edward just so dreamy??? You're soooo right. I'm really glad you liked the read and I hope you enjoy new moon too!!!
