Usernames!!!! How did you get yours?

User Names

I got mine while driving a cab in Las Vegas. As described in 'Mystic Gypsy Mavericks, I quantumly appeared behind a stretch limo and an innebriated girl protruding through the moonroof declared, Rocketman!

When I was younger - (18 I think) - I played on a football team for the "Regina Apostolic Church" and my number was 42, so I have been RAC42 since then. Don't know why that has stuck with me for so long.

Giving away my age!

When I was a little kid there was sci-fi serial called Commando Cody. I thought he was the coolest thing since Buck Rogers.:) Well, actually I never thought Buck Rogers was all that cool.:p But Commando Cody, yeah, he was way cool. He'd put on his silver bullet-shaped helmet, adjusted the dials on the rocket-pack strapped to his back and...Wooooosh! I wanted to be Commando Cody and now I am!:D

We all have reasons and stories behind the usernames we have. whats yours?

I'll go 1st. I picked RFK beacause he is a someone from history who i greatly admire.

lets hear those stories! :)

For a long time all I used was my first initial and last name. I simply couldn't think of anything else. The I started using Northwest-Wanderer, because I am a fulltime RVer in the Pacific Northwest of the US.

Finally, I am trying rvgeek because I am one. :D

Since I write a lot, I picked my real name as the username. This is for google purposes. Your google entries need to show up if you write, because that's the first place publishers go when a writer submits. (They check the name on the manuscript on google)

So...if you post up or sub out short fiction here and there on different forums, publishers can find out a lot about you in a very short time.

On most forums, other than B and R, I just use RobertMBlevins.

I started buying and selling American silverplate over 25 years ago. Not a particularly good financial decision, but I enjoyed it. I needed a business name and chose Silver Season (or silverseason) because
  • There was an age of gold but mine is the silver season
  • It is aural knockoff for silver seas
  • I had some silver in my hair
I don't buy and sell any more, but now I have a SilverSeason.com website so it ties in with that too.

My blog here is Silver Threads.

Well, "glazzies" as some of you probably know, is the Nadsat term for "eyes" in A Clockwork Orange. And well, red "glazzies" are what I get when I'm up all night reading!!!:D:cool:

Great question and many cool replies! My name is Elizabeth and it, along with Liz or Lizzie, is always taken everywhere I go. So Leyland is for my 1976 British Leyland MGB!

My name is Andreza but my little brother could not say it so he called me Deda. The foxxy was just a joke (like Foxxy Cleopatra) and was not going to stay but my hubby made fun of it, so IT STAYS!

:D

my nickname that my friends use is K-Roe but many places that i try to set up an account K-Roe has already been used so I got creative and spelled out the dash...KdashRoe.

lol. not that amazing...i know.

Guess.

Hmm, Sparkchaser's reading Nasty Bits. Is that a clue;)

I stole mine from Anne Bronte, who used the name Acton Bell as her pseudonym. She was also the least known of the three sisters, and that seems to suit me.
