The idea is simple: To poll the memebers of The Book Forum who read Science Fiction and Fantasy to find out what the best books in those genre are.
To vote for your favorite all time Sciene Fiction or Fantasy books please abide by the following guidelines in your posts:
Note: Some of us got together and worked up these guidelines here: Top 100 Thread if you want some background. Personally, I think we can to a better because we actually READ the BOOKS.
EDIT Jan 03, 2005: As for genre it was discussed, though I left it out of the guidelines, that we'd pretty well have to abide by the publishers decision otherwise it would degenerate into a humongous argument.
EDIT Jan 06, 2005: Regarding the rating system please use whole numbers only. Fractions, decimals and other partial points will be rounded off. (Didn't think of that one)

- Vote for either Science Fiction books or Fantasy books or both
- No limit
- No duplicates
- For each book please post EXACTLY like this Author (First Name MI Last Name -Book Title-Ranking (no fractions) For example: Robert A. Heinlein - The Moon is a Harsh Mistress - 10 (On a scale of 1-10 ten being the best one the worst) yes its important to use dashes only
- When rating books please use whole number increments only.
- No discussion, votes only please...there are plenty of "What's the best book ever?" threads
- Vote for stand alone books or series
- No deadline. We'll tabulate the results and update the list periodically
- To avoid chaos, kindly use publishers choice of genre.
